Bike Boy, Bike Boy, What You Gonna Do When They Come For You?

Somethings been amiss Downtown for the last few months. See, Bike Boy, a man in his 30s, has been riding around town on his bicycle and punching women pedestrians in the face as he passes them. Full on, closed-fist punches which have actually knocked a couple of ladies out. Like unconscious kind of out. Id say that theres a good chance that Bike Boy has an anger management issue, but then, Im no expert.

Shortly before the end of the day, one lady at work was reminding another to keep an eye out for Bike Boy when she walked to her car. As the lady was saying this, she looked out the window and noticed that the cops had rolled up on Bike Boy right in front of our building. Of course, we all rushed to the windows to check it out.

And, there was Bike Boy with his bike. The cops were holding his composite sketch right up next to his face and it looked just like him! Soon Bike Boy found himself surrounded by cops. Literally. We counted. There were two mounted cops, two uniformed bicycle cops, seven cops cars, a canine cop unit, a plain-clothes bicycle cop and an undercover cop. Wow! Take THAT, Bike Boy. Try punching the ladies now!

What, howd we know the plain-clothes bicycle cop was a cop? Well, because right there on his helmet and bicycle, it said Police. (Interestingly, the uniformed bicycle cops were wearing helmets with the manufacturers name on em rather than Police.) Plus he had a huge radio, walkie-talkie thing on his belt. The undercover cop? Yeah. Dorky T-Shirt over the bullet-proof vest and topped with a Magnum PI Hawaiian shirt. Well, and the comfortable cop stance and easy banter with the other officers.

Bike Boy might not of had a problem knocking out some ladies, but he didnt give the cops any hassle. When I left, he was sitting, uncuffed, in the back of a police cruiser. And, all us ladies breathed a little sigh of relief. Lets hope thats the last we see of Bike Boy.
